Hello everyone. I saw your advertisement on another site and had to check it out. It's been quite a few years since I played on a Redwall site, and I've been a huge fan of the books for a very long time. This place looks great and I'm tempted to join up with you guys. But I do have a few suggestions that may help out a bit. They're mainly aesthetic things to help the site look a bit more organized and such.
The main thing I'm referring to is your accepted characters board. You may want to consider organizing them according to Residence (Redwall Abbey, Mossflower Wood, Salamandastron) and even specie if you feel like it. This is just to let people, mainly guests looking over the site, a chance to see just what characters are already roaming about the site. That's always one of the first things I do when checking out a new site. I want to make sure someone doesn't already have a similar character to the one that may already be forming in my mind. You could also sticky a post that just contains a roster of all the accepted characters, showing ranks (Badger Lord, Abbot/Abbess, etc.), specie, and sorted by where they live.
But that's really the only thing I've found so far that I thought could use a bit of tweaking. As I said, the place looks great and I'm tempted to sign up. I'll have to see if I'm able to dedicate some time to the site since I'm on a couple of others too.

Hello! I know I'm not really someone in charge of something, but I just thought I'd give a welcoming and say that I'm sure we'd all be glad to have you. Also, concerning your suggestion about having a roster, I think the Name Claim in the Character Creation board serves as that - it lists all of the characters, their gender, their species, and is organized by residence and alphabetically.

Ah, I didn't even see that when I glanced through that board. That does take of that roster suggestion. But I'd still like to see the bios organized in some way. It's just a personal preference, but it's one that does tend to make a site look a little better.

I actually agree with that - it's something I'm used to seeing, and makes it easier to look through the bios if you want specific info on someone else's character.

The bios are meant to just be the entrance of a character so I don't see the point in taking the extra time to organize them. That's what the Name Claim is for. It would be just extra work for me to go through and sort what we have into their own special sub-boards and lock them. There's also the fact that if a character moves from Mossflower to Redwall or some other way, then I will have to move their bio around to follow where they go (where it's easy just to cut and paste a name in the name claim, rather than move the board AND have to update the roster). The initial bio is just meant to make sure the character is acceptable so it's up to the player to update their character logs with changes.
Thank you for the suggestion, though~
