Personality: All in all, April is a very outspoken squirrel. She came from a tribe of warrior archers, so she was raised in a different manner that the dibbuns of Redwall. She loves taking care of people, and although she can come off a bit blunt sometimes, she would never harm an innocent creature.
April is also emotional. She lets her heart guide her through most situations, and sometimes that is her downfall. But she has a level-headedness about her that balances out the emotions, and many come to her for advice or to be soothed during troubling times. Her emotions are what help her lead the abbey.
History: As stated above, April was born into a warrior tribe consisting of archer squirrels. She was in a litter of three, yet she was the only albino. Being albino was hard, though, because while her other tribe members were being taught how to use their pelt coloring to hide in bushes and trees, April was stark white against any background. But although she could not hide as her brethren, she could effectively use a weapon.
The tribe's weapon of choice was the bow and arrow. April was taught by members in her tribe on how to use the weapon and effectively kill other creatures. April wasn't one to kill innocent things, though, and she refused to use her bow unless she or her loved ones were in trouble. Not that her tribe used their weapons on innocent beings.
When she was around 12 human years old, a band of ferrets attacked their tribe, who were nomadic and had taken rest within Mossflower, and because they were taken off guard, many of the tribe members were slain. The night was long for April as she trudged through the rain and mud to find a place for rest. She did come upon Redwall Abbey, and was taken in to be healed up. That's where April's love of healing medicine comes in. She's been with the abbey ever since.
