Jenvyre Taylin9 Seasons | Female | Doremouse | Redwall Abbey -->>
Mossflower -->>
RedwallDescription: Jenvyre has pretty gray fur with a white underside. Her tail is long and fluffy, though not quite as fluffy as a squirrels. Jenvyre has two dark half-moons about her ears, and her tail is also slightly darker than the rest of her. Dark, but they have a twinkle in them.
Personality: Jenvyre has a fire in her spirit. She is shaken by what has befallen her, but is dead set on revenge. She is hiding her father's dirk, which was the one possession he managed to pass down to her. She is kind to the Redwallers, but since she doesn't intend to stay, she doesn't mind them a lot.
History: Jenvyre previously lived in the farthest reaches of Mossflower with her kin - including an aunt, uncle, and cousins. Once her father and his brother had a falling out though, the two families split up. Jenvyre had an older brother, Galin, who had 7 seasons on her. She loved her mother, Phyra, but her father was her special friend. While her brother was satified with a short staff for defense, her father carried a dirk. It was a cherished family heirloom, and part of the cause of his brother's jealously. She loved it when her father, Archard, would take her out to show her how to weild it - even at only four seasons.
That's when the rats came. They were only four in number, but they overwhelmed the family simply by slaying Galin. The sudden blow stunned Archard, who was then forced to witness the plunder and destruction of his home. The last things the rats took - or tried to - was Archard's dirk. He refused, standing his ground. Phyra defended him and insulted the leader, who simply turned and slit her throat. One of the rats advanced towards Archard, so he simply tossed the blade to Jenvyre.
That simple gesture could mean a thousand things. Jenvyre stood rigid, even as the rats turned to ask her for the blade. Jenvyre thought it meant that she was supposed to fight, but her father stopped her just before she was about to try her mettle against those rats.
"Run Jen-flower! Run!" Her father called, using her special nickname. It was a simple command and she obeyed, fleeing into the forest.
Two days later, hungry, cold, and pawsore, she collapsed in sight of the abbey. It didn't take long before she was noticed and taken in. She's lived there since.
Weapons: Her father's
dirk is a most excellent blade. 'Taylin' is carved into the handle as the family name. The handle is a dark brown, with a golden-colored hilt. The pommel is a ring of metal encasing an opal. The blade itself is a good size, with an indent running from the hilt to halfway up to the point. She also eventually fashions a sling for long range use.
She eventually learns that, when roused, she has
bloodwrath. She isn't someone to mess around with, but definitely don't harm her friends.
Audition Piece:
There is a horde of vermin outside, threatening the creatures under your protection and have already killed a couple that weren't expecting it. Write up a post about how your character would react to such a thing and what they would do to fight them off.Role Play Example: Jenvyre made a fist so tight her nails dug into her skin. First these vermin had killed two humble creatures who didn't deserve such a fate and now they were asking, nay
demanding a surrender. She looked over at the abbott/abbess with narrowed eyes. She could not allow them to surrender. She sighed with frustration, forcing herself to stay calm regardless of the situation.
Fortunately, the vermin allowed the abbey dwellers to convene a meeting to discuss their terms. Jenvyre suspected a trick though, and asked Reyldran to keep an eye on the vermin while the rest of the abby staff talked in over.
She hadn't been Abbey Warrior long, but surprisingly, she felt prepared. After training in both her battle moves and other skills she realized she was far more prepared to take on this threat.
The abbott/abbess asked her opinion. Like Celedin had showed her, she took a breath before replying, taking the time to gather her thoughts so she spoke clearly and with conviction.
"I say we fight. This abbey has defended itself against numerous threats in the past. How would we honor our predecessors by giving into this threat now? We are stronger than the are, because they fight for greed. We are fighting for the safety of the creatures who life here. We are fighting for the lives of the oldest to the youngest both here and in Mossflower. We can't give up on them."
And they didn't. The moment the abbott/abbess delivered this answer, the vermin attacked. Jenvyre threw herself at the abbott/abbess, knocking him/her out of the way of an arrow as it shot toward him/her. It grazed her arm deeply, but Jenvyre ignored it and was up shouting orders without a second thought.
"Get off the walls unless you have a weapon and are able to fight! Stay low and warn everyone in the abbey to stay inside!" She called. Several of the creatures who couldn't, or wouldn't, fight left, running for the abbey. The rest were supplied with weapons that the quicker creatures were ferrying to them. Celadin had her bow out and Jenvyre used her sling to knock off a few of the attackers.
She took two creatures, a mole and a shrew, and had them go run around the other walltops to check for sneak attacks. She warned them to stay low though, and they obeyed her.
She realized that the creatures were actually listening to her, and was momentarily stunned. Such authority didn't come to just anyone, or so Celadin had told her. She vowed to keep the abbey safe, even if it killed her. She was so galvanized that a battle cry was unleashed from her lips.
"REDWAAAAALLLLL!!!!!" She cried, and other voices raised with her.
Notes: I'm thinking she would become Abbey Warrior at 9 Seasons, after further training and her meeting with Celadin. The role play is when she's a bit older. Also, I didn't know quite what you wanted with the role play, so I gave you a bit of preparation and battle.
