The year is 2011, and the world is shifting.
Elementals are a common sight the world over, those with the power over the forces of nature, and they're a seamless part of society. The only problem is, the normals are getting twitchy. It happens every few decades - protests over elementals holding positions of power in the government, escalating to calls for harsher laws for the regulation of elementals and then calls for them to have hardly any rights at all. Every time, there have been a few years of unrest before everything settled down, carefully moved back to how it was.
